cedarpk is a 16 year old artist & producer from Boston, MA. Inspired by artists like Mac Miller and Oliver Malcolm, Kai puts his own spin on the traditional rap sound using distorted synths, funky textures and irregular drum patterns.
The Beginning
Kai grew up constantly surrounded by music, first introduced to hip-hop by Mac Miller's "Ladders", a song his dad used to play constantly when he was a kid. Whether it was Mac Miller, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Twenty One Pilots, his dad was jamming. However, he recalls he was first really inspired when he encountered Oliver Malcolm's "The Jungle" on a YouTube ad, he was searching for a similar sound for so long and he was finally able to pin it down.
Motives
Struggling with severe anxiety and depression, he uses music to cope and move forward with his situation. He's used music to help him cope nearly every step of the way. In his words, becoming an artist was an inevitibility because he felt as if someone else can evoke these intense feelings and really heal then he can to.
What's Next
The debut album "IT WAS ALL A BLUR." drops February 18, 2026.
